Mini Piles

Mini piles are also commonly known as micropiles. Typically they are used in areas with restricted access as they can be installed with smaller equipment than traditionally required for caissons or driven piles. The micropiles are less than 12" (300 mm) in diameter. Grout is injected or placed into the drilled hole and steel reinforcement is added to increase the load capacity of the unit. The first pile installed at a site is normally load tested to verify the assumed design values. The actual capacity established by the load is then used for the production anchors.
