To provide increased stability and power during drilling The Anchor Group uses a box lead and hollow stem auger mounted on a crane. This improves our ability to install auger cast piles even in materials which are very dense or include boulders. High slump concrete is pumped into the auger using a high pressure concrete pump. The level of concrete is monitored by an electronic pressure sensor mounted at the top of the auger. All piles are tested using non destructive integrity tests.
