Caissons, shoring

The Anchor Group installed 300 caissons for the Central Processor Building. Caissons for this structure were up to 78" in diameter and 80’ deep socketted 20 feet into shale. Up to 85m3 of concrete and 8 tonnes of rebar was placed in each caisson. The contract for the Central Processor Building also included design and installation of lagged shoring.

Other projects completed by The Anchor Group for the Airport Development include shoring and decking for road way protection and bridge construction, high mast lighting bases and caisson foundations for bridgework. The original caissons for Terminal 2 were completed by The Anchor Group in 1971
