Banner Piling & Excavating of The Anchor Group was awarded the contract for installation of driven piles for a new Wal-Mart store in Scarborough, Ontario.

The pile capacities required varied from 70 kips to 220 kips per pile. Two pipe diameters, 7" and 9-5/8" were selected to meet the design criteria. The elevation of the founding material varied considerably across the site. As a result the driven lengths of the piles varied from 35’ to 80’. After driving the piles were filled with concrete and the tops cut to the specified elevations.

This project required driving of 375 pipe piles. Schedule was critical to the owner. Therefore, The Anchor Group mobilized 3 pile driving rigs plus support equipment to the site.
