Facade support, lagged shoring, caisson walls

This complex project required support of the facades of 8 historical buildings and shoring of an entire city block. The Anchor Group was the successful bidder on design and installation of the caisson walls, lagged shoring and façade support for this project. More than 50,000 ft² of lagging and 240 piles 65’ deep were installed at this site.

The façade supports were designed to allow excavation to the property line. This was accomplished by construction of a steel platform by the Anchor Group supported by steel liners. The design allowed excavation below the supports. The steel liners remained in place until construction of the permanent structure was complete to grade.
