Caissons were originally specified to support the structure at 300 Queens Drive. The Anchor Group proposed an alternative foundation system of auger cast (CFA) piles which resulted in a considerable cost saving to the owner.

Initially a test pile was installed and loaded to 200% of the design loading to confirm the design parameters for the site. Based on the results of this testing program it was established that a pile length of 50' would be sufficient. The Anchor Group installed 741 auger cast piles at this site with a total drilled length of 44,555 lineal feet. Sonic testing was completed on each pile to verify its integrity.
